Originally intended to be a temporary sports facility, the new Queen’s Park Sportsplex became a permanent statement building with boastable sustainability. The building design centers around a pre-engineered steel structure while the building as a whole achieves ‘zero carbon’ sustainability status at an economical price point for the project initiative. The project benefited from zero carbon energy source, R-35 building envelope utilizing IMP’s (insulated metal panels), solar panel (photo-voltaic) roof systems which may accommodate future expansion.
The Liberty Steel Team is proud to note their ability to maintain adherence to a strict project schedule and work safety policies despite proceeding with construction during the COVID19 global pandemic crisis.
The new 12,000 sq. ft. facility showcases pre-engineered steel construction’s ability to enhance community spaces to better serve community needs. The Sportsplex hosts a variety of community programs such as gymnastics, ball hockey, basketball, badminton, volleyball, and other events becoming a true all-around sports centric recreational facility.
